The objective of this workshop is to provide hands-on training to library professionals by providing sufficient practical knowledge which will enable the participants to develop digital repositories of library materials and develop website/blog on their own by using DSpace and Wordpress. The workshop also aims to provide basic knowledge and skills to participants in use and customization of Wordpress for creating, designing, and managing as library website/blog. Workshop comprises of lectures, demonstration and hands-on training using DSpace software Wordpress in detail.

 

The basic purpose of this workshop is to train participants with technical skills for using DSpace (IR Software) and Wordpress (CMS) for their own libraries with the following objectives:

• To create awareness among professionals about open source technology & its application in library.

• To make the library professionals technically sound so as to create IR for their library independently without any support.

• To enable the library & information professionals to face the technological challenges related to DSpace and Wordpress etc.

• And, to strengthen the society & professionals.
