Biju Patnaik Central Library

	Biju Patnaik Central Library is the central library of the National Institute of Technology Rourkela. The Library caters to the educational and research needs of the academic community and its resources are consulted by scholars from all over the country. Biju Patnaik, a great social reformer set up Regional Engineering College, Rourkela. BPCL started functioning in 1965. At present, the library holds about 70,000+ books, 18,000+ back volumes of periodicals and subscribes more than 6000 online journals/, 10,000 e-books, many databases. Prior to that, the BPCL has many ISI codes, educational video courses & cassettes and CD-ROM etc. The library is fully automated and using RFID technology for transactions & securities. Library has Institutional Repository, Thesis Repository for scholarly content of the institution by using e-prints, DSpace, Greenstone & other open source technologies.
