This workshop is to provide hands-on training to library professionals by providing adequate practical knowledge which will enable the participants to automate the libraries on their own by using Koha. The workshop will be also useful to those who wish to learn the application of RFID in library. Workshop comprises of lectures, demonstration and hands-on training using Koha software in detail. The workshop also aims to provide basic knowledge and skills to participants in customizing Koha OPAC for creating, designing, conceptualizing and managing as library website.

The basic purpose of this workshop is to equip participants with technical skills for automating their own libraries with the following objectives:

• To create awareness among professionals about open source technology & its application in library

• To make the library professionals technically sound so as to automate their library independently without any support 

• To enable the library & information professionals to face the technological challenges such as multi-branch handling, installation etc.

• And, to strengthen the society & professionals
